How to make a Minnie mouse inspired head band
As you have seen on my video blog- http://www.youtube.com/user/Conkerbelle?feature=mhw5
this is how you can make a minnie mouse inspired headband.
Materials:
-40cm of satin (you choose the colour)
-45cm of craft wire
-Plastic headband
-Superglue
-Scissors
-Thread
-Sewing machine or needle
Steps:
- Cut a long piece of your satin and glue it to your headband as you wrap it around.
- Cut a piece of craft wire to 34cm and twist the ends together to make an oval shape.
- Cut another piece of satin measuring 38cm x 34cm and fold the longer sides together, shiny side facing up. Place the oval wire onto the satin and pin fabric 1cm around the edge of the wire. Sew the fabric together, leaving 10cm gap and cut away any excess fabric.
- Turn the fabric out to the shiny side and push the oval wire through 10cm gap so it sits inside the fabric. Adjust the wire around the edges of the inside of the satin to maintain the oval shape.
- Pinch the middle of the fabric and wire together to create a bow shape. Tie the bow onto the headband with the extra piece of fabric slightly to the right or left of the middle.
